Best Place For Afternoon Tea

Best for Chocoholics

Award-winning patissier and chocolatier William Curley has fused art with chocolate in The Halkin hotel’s delicious new afternoon tea. It combines the traditional elements of an English tea – triangles of prawn and chicken sandwiches, scones and clotted cream – and à la carte sweet items such as chocolate ganache-filled macaroons and a sea-salt-caramel and raspberry tart topped with rich chocolate cremeaux.

The surroundings are delicious, too, in The Halkin’s pop-up ‘culture lounge’ curated by Assouline, with the most beautiful coffee-table books to flick through. And the Belgravia location means it’s in the right place for a break from a day’s shopping or visiting the museums of Knightsbridge.

William Curley’s Couture Chocolate Afternoon Tea, from £37.50 per person. To book contact The Halkin, Halkin Street, London SW1 (020 7333 1000; http://www.halkin.como.bz)
